Rokka (pre-engagement)

Roka is one of the most significant ceremonies that take place before a Punjabi wedding. The roka ceremony marks the union of both the bride and groom's family and friends. Gifts from both families are acceptable at Rokka.

Everyone present there were busy in rejoicing the moment . The elders were expressing their happiness by hugging each other and feeding sweets. The younger clan were busy in teasing moran. In short the atmosphere after moran agreed for marriage became joyous. They settled on the sofa for further discussion.

Param : ek baar mission aa gaya ya fir Monami apni duty mein busy ho jayegi uske baad time nhi hoga tumhare paas.

Barkha : tum dono well settled ho , job hai aur age bhi sahi hai .

Sid : aur to aur roka ke baad aap dono ke paas officiall license hoga ek dusre ke saath time spend karne ka ...

Sanju : aisa nhi ki abhi family mein kisi ko problem hogi ....

Juhi : lekin hum his society mein rehte hai waha jab larka larki ek dusre ke saath time spend karte hai to unhe ek alag najariye  se dekha jata hai.

Deepak : hum nhi chahte ki koi bhi tum dono ke is sacred relation ke baare mein kuch bhi galat shalat bole.

Listening to all this karan started looking at the other side of the picture. He understood that he had to take this step for Monami , her respect , and most importantly her happiness. After thinking a lot he looked at Monami for her decision. He asked her with gesture to which Monami replied positively by blinking her eyes. This sign language was noticed by everyone.

Monami noded her head positively and Suhana wiped her tears and noded in no and hugged Monami tightly .

Param : barkha aur uska shopping se pyaar ( he muttered under his breath.)

Barkha : aapne kuch kaha (he noded negatively)

Baby : Main aapki choti si , cute si aur smart baby ......hum dono milke chachu ko khub pareshan karenge.

Faizi : aur hum hai Faizi....hai to karan ke best friend par kehlayenge aapke pyaare dulare eklaute devar.

Hum dono milke monu ki class lenge ( Koel stick out her tongue to monu teasing her).

Monami was happy with the news of marriage and her happiness increased by seeing Koel. She did not care about anything else and jumped on Koel hugging her. Koel also hugged her back .

Koel : aur tu mujhe kab batane waali thi ki tu shaadi kar rhi hai ...(lightly slapping her forehead. )

Monu: Main tujhe call karne hi waali thi par tu khud aa gayi ..... Chal ab gussa na ho na (cutely)

Koel : so roka kab hai

Sanju : kal.

Koel : omg kal roka hai aur aap sab aise baithe ho ...... monu ka dress , makeup , accessories sab select karna hai.......guest bulane hai ...arrangement karna... kaise hoga sab.....

Juhi stopped her by holding her shoulders

Juhi : shant.......shant....meri rajdhani express.......arrangement sab ho jayega ....aur rhi baat guests ki to sirf Mahajans, Ganjus ,Shergils aur tum hi honge .....so don't worry .

Koel : hash ....koi tension ki baat nhi hai.....chaliye ham sab terrace pe chalkar baate karte hai .

She said it to the younger clan they made Monami made baby comfortably sleep on sofa as she was already fast asleep and they went to the terrace for talking while the elders stayed back and discussed about the roka ceremony.
